Symposium of historians of music from the 18th and 19th centrury

A cover of the book of abstracts of the symposium papers

2023-06-16
On the 30th of May and 1st of June, 2023, an interesting symposium was held in the the Institute of Art of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw. It was organised as a continuation of the series of symposiums of historians of music from and 19th centrury (as No. 5), but at the same time the range of this event was broadened and covered the 18th century too.

We are particularly proud since we had among the participants our colleauge Wiktoria Antonczyk who took part in the panel devoted to a presence of Italian singers, conductors and opera troupes in the 19th-century Poland. She presented unknown until now archive materials concerning that subject.

Among other panelists and lecturers were Marcin Gmys, Małgorzata Sułek, Monika Pasiecznik, Małgorzata Sieradz, Karol Rzepecki. The detailed programme, abstracts and biographies of all participants are available at the website of the Institute of Art of the Polish Academy of Sciences.(Iz.)
