Ukrainian musicological migration in the cultural universe of Poland - it was the title of the symposium organised on May 25, 2023, in the Institute of Art of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw.
Its initiator was professor Olena Berehova, who also gave an interesting lecture about Polish-Ukrainian relations in the field of music after the World War II. Her detailed research of resources of the Archive of the Polish Composers’ Union which she had carried out during the last year due to the sholarship from the National Science Centre had led her to conclusion that in spite of Soviet domination in this region there were many examples of big efforts to build true friendly relations between Ukrainian and Polish musicians before 1990.
Other interesting speaches were presented by (a.o.) Iryna Klymenko, Piotr Dahlig, Oksana Shkurhan, Larysa Hnatiuk, Katarzyna Szymańska-Stulka, Bozhena Shabetnik, Anastasia Molyboha and Serhii Volkov.
