On the 16th of May, 2023, in Warsaw premises of Polish Music Edition at Fredry street, a presentation of the new internet portal
mycielski.polmic.pl took place, organised by Polish Composers' Union / Polish Music Information Centre POLMIC. The website was dedicated to the composer and writer Zygmunt Mycielski (1907–1987). The event was part of the 37th "Warsaw Music Encounters" festival.
The new website is a part of the series of portals dedicated to selected composers and musicologists, implemented by the Polish Composers' Union and made available on the
polmic.pl website. On this portal you can find texts, photographs and recordings related to Mycielski and his compositions and writing. The website is also available in English.
During the meeting, authors of texts published on the Mycielski website – Beata Bolesławska-Lewandowska, Barbara Mielcarek-Krzyżanowska and Marek Zagańczyk – presented its structure and content, discussed selected texts by Mycielski, recordings of his music and recollections dedicated to him.
A very interesting discussions continued after the official part of this meeting, which was showed in the gallery. The author of photos is Maciej Borowski, the work was co-financed by the Minister of Education and Science as part of the “Social Responsibility of Science” programme in 2021 and 2022. (Iz.)
