As part of our 1st Virtual, Private, Home and Calm... Polish music festiwal of the Library of PCU, we wish to remind you the composition Anamnesis by Tadeusz Wielecki, which was presented at the ‘Warsaw Autumn’ in 2019, i.e. already five (as many as 5!) years ago.
In the programme book the commentary written by the Composer was published. We encourage you to read it, although the text is not easy. Tadeusz’s personality and music are, however, similarly complex, interesting and intriguing. We got to know him (aparently!) well when he was the director of the ‘Warsaw Autumn’ International Festival of Contemporary Music for 17 years 1999–2016. Yet Tadek surprises constantly.
We were lucky to host him at one of the evenings of our ‘Meet the Composer’ series. We encourage you to take a look at Marietta Morawska-Büngeler's book The Soul of Sounds which was published in open access at https://duszadzwiekow.polmic.pl/. Some of you may remember the promotional CD which was published by the Polish Composers’ union in co-operation with the Polish Radio - within the series ‘Polish Music Today – Portraits of Contemporary Polish Composers’. In the TO READ menu we make avaialble the booklet of that CD. A lot of thoughts come into mind...
Here, the more recent composition. Still, the music will say much more. You are welcome!
Our ‘1st Virtual, Private, Calm, Home, festival of Polish Music of the Polish Composers’ Union Library‘ is organised as part of the project ‘Preservation, digitisation and online accessibility of the unique music collections of the Scientific Library of the Polish Composers’ Union, co-financed by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education and from the funds of the Creativity Promotion Fund of the Society of Authors ZAiKS. We would like to thank our patrons.
