During the meeting:
All in a very pleasant atmosphere. We invite you to a moment of reflective relaxation. The meeting is also intended to be an opportunity to discuss what is probably a fundamental topic for us, so it can be considered an opportunity for professional development - time well spent, even if it is during working hours...
This invitation also provides the perfect context to introduce the new Head of POLMIC , Kamil Staszowski, as on 10 December 2025, the Presidium of the Main Board of the Polish Composers' Union decided by resolution to entrust the duties of director of the Polish Music Information Centre POLMIC to Mr Kamil Staszowski. Mr Kamil replaced Mr Mieczysław Kominek, who had long announced that at the end of this year, after the conclusion of the 100th anniversary festival of the Polish Composers' Union, he would retire after more than 24 years of managing POLMIC.
Kamil Staszowski was born in 1987 in Wodzisław Śląski. He is a manager, researcher, populariser, musician and composer. In recent years, he has been involved in researching the manuscripts of Polish film music composers, as well as archives, including audiovisual archives, radio and popularisation activities. He studied composition and music theory in Stanisław Moryta's class at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music; he also completed postgraduate studies in cultural management (UMFC/SGH).
However, this was not the only decision taken on 10 December by the Presidium of the ZKP Main Board, as the same body also resolved to
We are convinced that all these decisions will not only be, but already are, good for the Polish Music Information Centre POLMIC and its scientific base, the foundation of the ZKP Scientific Library.
We are gald to express our sincere thanks to the ZKP Management Board.
We invite you all to join us at the meeting. Due to the ongoing renovation of the staircase in our building, the event will be held exclusively online.
